Quickstart & Firmware Flashing

This guide walks you through flashing the official KryonOS firmware onto your ESP32 board.

Prerequisites

Before flashing, make sure you have:

1. An ESP32 development board (ESP32-WROOM-32, ESP32-S3, or ESP32-C3).
2. A Micro-USB or USB-C data cable (ensure it supports data transfer, not power only).
3. A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux.
4. Arduino IDE 2.x or esptool.py.

Initial Boot & Setup

When KryonOS boots for the first time:

1. The ILI9341 display initializes with the KryonOS Boot Splash.
2. If Wi-Fi is unconfigured, it launches the Wi-Fi Setup Access Point (KryonOS-Setup).
3. Connect your phone/laptop to KryonOS-Setup and browse to http://192.168.4.1 to select your home Wi-Fi network.
4. Once connected, KryonOS generates an 8-character pairing code (e.g. 7K4P-92QX).
